XVIII Questions and Answers About the Way of Eternal Life

Question 4: If we accept Almighty God’s work of the last days, how should we pursue to gain the way of everlasting life?

Answer: In the last days, Almighty God expresses the entirety of the truth that can purify and save mankind. These truths are all expressed according to man’s corrupt substance and all that he lacks, and they are the reality of truth that man should have. God wants us to receive these truths as the way of everlasting life. This truth is the way of everlasting life bestowed to man by God. So, how are we to seek and gain the way of eternal life? Almighty God has already laid out a practical path for us. Let’s read some words from Almighty God.

“The work of the last days is to separate all according to their kind, to conclude the management plan of God, for the time is near and the day of God has come. God brings all who have entered His kingdom, that is, all those who have been loyal to Him to the end, into the age of God Himself. However, before the coming of the age of God Himself, the work that God desires to do is not to observe the deeds of man or to inquire about the lives of man, but to judge his rebellion, for God shall purify all those who come before His throne. All those who have followed the footsteps of God to this day are those who have come before the throne of God, hence all who accept the last of God’s work are those to be purified by God. In other words, all those who accept the last of God’s work are those who will be judged by God” (“Christ Does the Work of Judgment With the Truth” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

“Today’s conquering work is to get back all the testimony and all the glory, and to have all men worship God, so that there is testimony among the created. This is what needs to be done in this stage of work. How exactly is mankind to be conquered? It will be done by using this work of words to fully convince man; by using disclosure, judgment, chastisement, and merciless curse to thoroughly subdue him; and by disclosing man’s rebelliousness and judging his resistance so he can know mankind’s unrighteousness and filth, which will be used to highlight God’s righteous disposition. Mainly, it will be the use of these words that conquers man and fully convinces him. Words are the means to the ultimate conquering of mankind, and all who accept conquering must accept the smiting and judgment of the words. The current process of speaking is the process of conquering. How exactly should people cooperate with this work? By eating and drinking these words effectively and understanding them. People cannot become conquered by themselves. They must, from eating and drinking these words, come to know their corruption and filth, their rebelliousness and unrighteousness, and fall down before God. If you can understand God’s will and then put it into practice and, further, have the vision, and if you can completely obey these words and not exercise any of your own choices, then you will have been conquered. “In this age, God primarily uses the word to govern all. Through the word of God, man is judged and perfected, then finally taken into the kingdom. Only the word of God can supply the life of man, and only the word of God can give man light and the way of practice, particularly in the Age of Kingdom. As long as you daily eat and drink of His word and do not leave the reality of the word of God, God shall be able to make you perfect” (“The Age of Kingdom Is the Age of Word” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

“Now it is crucial that you focus on your life: eat and drink more of My word, experience more of My word, know more of My word, and let My word truly become your life—this is fundamental. Can a person who is unable to live by God’s word grow in life? No! You must live by My word in each and every moment, take My word as the standard of your action in your life, so you will understand which actions God finds joyful and which actions God finds hateful. In this way, you will gradually step onto the right track” (“The Twenty-second Utterance” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

“If man can truly enter the reality of God’s word and he can do so in God’s requirements, he is one perfected by God. It can be said that the word and work of God have borne full fruit in him. The word of God has become his life, he has gained the truth and is able to live by the word of God. The nature of his flesh, the foundation of his original existence then begins to shake and collapse. Only once man has the word of God as his life does he become a new man. The word of God has become his life: the vision of God’s work, God’s requirements for man, God’s revelations of man, the standard of a true life which God asks man to reach—these are now his life, and he lives by these words, by these truths. He has been perfected by the word of God; he has been reborn in the word of God; he has become a new man in the word of God” (“How to Walk the Way of Peter” in Christ’s Talks with Church Leaders and Workers).

We can see from the words of Almighty God that God’s work in the last days is the work of the word. God uses the word to judge, purify, and perfect man. If we want to gain the way of everlasting life, we must accept and obey the end-time judgment and chastisement before Christ’s seat, eat and drink God’s word, accept the judgment of His word, come to know God’s righteous disposition and find true fear of God in our hearts, and then experience God’s word so as to understand the truth and live out the reality of God’s word. This is the only path to receive the way of everlasting life. Now we all know, only by accepting Almighty God’s word can man be purified, saved, and perfected. To gain the way of everlasting life, we need to eat and drink, and experience His words. This is because the satanic corruption in man is too deep. We all live in sin, scrambling blindly to secure our own futures and fates. We don’t know the difference between good and evil, the nature and substance and the truth about our corruption. We don’t know God’s desire and don’t know God, nor do we understand what God likes and dislikes. We can’t see through to Satan’s evil substance, for we live by the satanic nature. We seek fortune and fame, and engage in intrigue, admiring power and evil. We confuse black and white, and indulge our greed and desires. All we live out is demonic image of Satan, without any likeness of real humans. Only God is the truth, the way, and the life. The truths expressed by God show God’s disposition and all that He has and is. To man, the truth is judgment, chastisement, examination, and it’s also purification. In God’s words, man can feel God’s righteous disposition, as if they see the appearance of God, so their hearts feel fear of God. Man feel that he is low, dirty, and small. He sees the truth about his corruption by Satan and how far he is from meeting God’s standards. And when through practice, people come to understand more truth, and they feel shame and accusation for actions not after God’s heart, so the truth serves as an examination. And the truth also serves as a guide in the actions men take and the paths they walk. When the truth becomes the principles by which people speak and act, the truth has become man’s life. We see the truth indeed can change people, transform their disposition and perfect them. The truth has profound value and significance for man’s existence. Therefore, if people accept and live by the truth expressed by Almighty God in the last days, they can achieve change in their life disposition and become those who have truth and humanity. These people are those who have been perfected by God and gained the truth, and are those who have escaped from the dark influence of Satan and been gained by God. They obey God, love God, follow God’s will, and they are compatible with God. These are the ones who have gained the way of everlasting life.
