1 Almighty God Gave Me a Second Life

July 21, 2012, is the most unforgettable day for me and also the most important day in my life experience.
That day, the rain came down in buckets in Fangshan District of Beijing. It was the heaviest rain in 61 years in our area. At past four in the afternoon, I went out into the street and saw that water was everywhere. Our car was floating, and it wasn’t washed away because something in front stopped it. At the sight of the scene, I got very anxious and hurried to phone my husband, but the line was always dead. At that time, I didn’t seek God’s will; instead, I hurried home to find him.
Afterward, my husband and I, under an umbrella, went to see about the car. When we got to the car, he wanted to get in and drive it away, but before he touched it, it started to move. He hastened to follow it, but it was still washed away by the flood. Along with it he was sucked down into the flood. I was in haste to try to pull him back, but before I could move I was sucked down too. Instantly, both of us were washed more than 60 meters away by the roaring flood. At this moment, a minibus was pushed in front of us suddenly. My husband wanted to help himself up against the minibus, but before he placed his hand on it, it was washed away again. We were also washed away several meters along with it. At a corner, my husband managed to stand up, and said, “Hurry to the little pavilion!” Then, hand in hand, we two climbed to the little pavilion with difficulty. At that time, the floodwaters kept rising, and we held on to the pillar tightly for fear that we might be washed away again. Only at this juncture of life and death did I think of relying on God. I prayed and called to God in my heart ceaselessly, “O God, whether I will live or die today is up to You. Even if I will die, it is Your righteousness.” I kept praying to God, and dared not leave God for a moment. Suddenly, a miracle happened. Many sticks fended off the current surging toward us. When the current lashed against our bodies, we actually felt no pain. The floodwaters still kept rising, and we two in the water still kept praying and singing to praise God. Afterward, the current became swifter and swifter. I, being already exhausted, was about to lose hold of the pillar. I hurriedly cried out to my husband, “I can’t hold on any longer. I’m finished.” Then the flood washed me away, but my husband got hold of me and pulled me back…. My life hung in the balance that moment. Then, a car was carried before us, and it happened to be stuck between two pillars. The current surged along the two sides of the car, and we were safe and sound. God is so wonderful! God is so almighty! If God didn’t save me today, I would be washed away by the flood and die somewhere. It is Almighty God who has given me a second life. Almighty God says, “God uses His life to supply all things both living and lifeless, bringing all to good order by virtue of His power and authority. This is a truth which none can conceive or easily comprehend, and these incomprehensible truths are the very manifestation of and testament to the life force of God.”
We stayed in the heavy rain for five hours. Actually, at that time, several rescue workers had seen us, but noticing that the current was especially turbulent, they just looked at us in a distance and didn’t come to rescue us, for fear that they themselves might be washed away. I see that all men are selfish and powerless in the face of disasters. Man cannot save man at all, and only Almighty God is the source of our life and even more our timely salvation. If we leave Almighty God, we’ll surely die. Today I have personally experienced God’s love, and I’m willing to take an oath before God: I’ll follow Almighty God determinedly in future, and I’ll preach the gospel with my personal experience and bring more people before God to repay God for His grace of salvation.
