3 Key Principles for Welcoming the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Mar 5, 201918

By Yanjin

Being able to welcome the second coming of the Lord Jesus is the greatest wish of those who truly believe in the Lord. So how can we welcome the Lord Jesus? What follows is fellowship on the three main paths so that we may welcome the Lord’s return together.

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, Almighty God, Jesus,

Are Almighty God and the Lord Jesus One God?

When mankind was corrupted by Satan, God began His management plan for the salvation of mankind. God has carried out three stages of work for the salvation of mankind. During the Age of Law, Jehovah God issued the laws and guided the life of mankind, making people know that they should worship God, and making them know what sin is. But with the arrival of the final stages of the Age of Law, mankind’s corruption became ever more profound, and people often violated the laws and sinned against Jehovah. They faced the risk of being condemned and put to death because of their violations. Thus, in answer to the needs of mankind, during the Age of Grace God assumed human form and became the Lord Jesus. He was nailed to the cross for the sake of mankind, and redeemed man from sin, enabling people to come before God and pray to God, confess and repent, be forgiven for their sins, and live under the riches of God’s grace and blessings. But because people’s sinful nature had yet to be resolved, and they still often sinned and opposed God, in the Age of Kingdom God once more became flesh, using the name of Almighty God to express all truths for the salvation and purification of mankind upon the foundation of the Lord Jesus’ work of redemption, expunging mankind’s sinful nature, causing mankind to cease its disobedience to God and opposition to God, allowing people to truly obey God and worship God, and ultimately leading mankind to a beautiful destination. Even though the work God has done in the Age of Law, Age of Grace, and Age of Kingdom has been different, and the names He has taken and disposition He has displayed have been different, the substance and aims of His work are the same—all are in order to save mankind, and all the work is done by God Himself. As Almighty God said, “From the work of Jehovah to that of Jesus, and from the work of Jesus to that of this current stage, these three stages cover the entire breadth of God’s management, and are all the work of one Spirit. From when He created the world, God has always been managing mankind. He is the Beginning and the End, He is the First and the Last, and He is the One who begins an age and the One who brings the age to an end. The three stages of work, in different ages and different locations, are surely carried out by one Spirit. All those who separate these three stages oppose God” (“The Vision of God’s Work (3)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).
For thousands of years, few people have truly known that the Lord Jesus Christ is God Himself, that He is the appearance of God, and that the Lord Jesus is the incarnation of Jehovah. In fact, the Bible had long since prophesied this clearly. In the Book of Isaiah, it was said that “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin (or: when he shall render himself as an offering for sin)” (Isa 53:10). From this passage of the Bible it can be seen that for the Lord Jesus to serve as a sin offering means that Jehovah offered Himself as a sin offering, and that the Lord Jesus was Jehovah. The Lord Jesus also said, “he that has seen me has seen the Father” (Jhn 14:9). “the Father is in me, and I in him” (Jhn 10:38). “I and my Father are one” (Jhn 10:30). When the Lord Jesus said that “I and my Father are one,” He was saying that He and Jehovah are one Spirit. The words uttered by the Lord Jesus and those uttered by Jehovah are the same—they are both the truth, they are the utterances of one Spirit, and their source is the same; that is, the Lord Jesus and Jehovah are one God. Likewise, the source of the words expressed by Almighty God of the last days and those by the Lord Jesus is the same, they are the utterances of the Holy Spirit, they are the truth, and they are the voice of God. Those who believe in the Lord all know that greater number of prophecies in the Bible concern the return of the Lord and the work of judgment of God of the last days. As the Lord Jesus said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (Jhn 14:3). “And, behold, I come quickly” (Rev 22:12). “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory” (Luk 21:27). “Behold, I come as a thief” (Rev 16:15). “He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (Jhn 12:48). In the First Epistle of Peter it was also said that, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1Pe 4:17). It was spoken very clearly in these scriptures that the Lord Jesus would return during the last days, and would express words and do the work of judgment. When Almighty God arrives during the last days, He does the work of judgment beginning from the house of God upon the foundation of the work of redemption of the Lord Jesus, and expresses all truths for the purification and salvation of mankind. Although the work of Almighty God and that of the Lord Jesus are different, their source is the same—the one God! This completely fulfills the prophecy of the Lord Jesus: “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come” (Jhn 16:12-13). The incarnate Almighty God of the last days is the embodiment of the Spirit of truth; Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus.

Jesus Eats Bread and Explains the Scriptures After His Resurrection

Apr 26, 2018271

(Luk 24:30–32) And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

(Luk 24:36–43) And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the middle of them, and said to them, Peace be to you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said to them, Why are you troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit has not flesh and bones, as you see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said to them, Have you here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them.

Next we’ll take a look at the passages of scripture above. The first passage is a recounting of the Lord Jesus eating bread and explaining the scriptures after His resurrection, and the second passage is a recounting of the Lord Jesus eating broiled fish. What kind of help do these two passages provide for knowing God’s disposition? Can you imagine the kind of picture you get from these descriptions of the Lord Jesus eating bread and then broiled fish? Can you imagine, if the Lord Jesus were standing in front of you eating bread, how you might feel? Or if He were eating with you at the same table, eating fish and bread with people, what kind of feeling you would have at the time? If you feel you would be very close to the Lord, that He is very intimate with you, then this feeling is right. This is exactly the fruit that the Lord Jesus wanted to bear from eating bread and fish in front of the multitude after His resurrection. If the Lord Jesus had only spoken with people after His resurrection, if they could not feel His flesh and bones, but felt He was an unreachable Spirit, how would they feel? Wouldn’t they be disappointed? When people were disappointed, wouldn’t they feel abandoned? Wouldn’t they feel a distance with the Lord Jesus Christ? What kind of negative impact would this distance create on people’s relationship with God? People would certainly feel afraid, that they didn’t dare come close to Him, and then they would have an attitude of keeping Him at a respectful distance. From then on, they would sever their intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and return to a relationship between mankind and God up in heaven, as it was before the Age of Grace. The spiritual body that people could not touch or feel would lead to the eradication of their intimacy with God, and it would also make that intimate relationship—established during the Lord Jesus Christ’s time in the flesh, with no distance between Him and humans—cease to exist. People’s feelings toward the spiritual body are only fear, avoidance, and a wordless gaze. They do not dare to get close or to have a dialogue with Him, let alone follow, trust, or have hope in Him. God was reluctant to see this type of feeling that humans had for Him. He did not want to see people avoiding Him or removing themselves from Him; He only wanted people to understand Him, come close to Him, and be His family. If your own family, your children saw you but did not recognize you, and did not dare to come close to you but always avoided you, if you could not gain their understanding for everything you had done for them, how would that make you feel? Wouldn’t it be painful? Wouldn’t you be heartbroken? That is precisely what God feels when people avoid Him. So, after His resurrection, the Lord Jesus still appeared to people in His form of flesh and blood, and ate and drank with them. God sees people as family and He also wants mankind to see Him that way; only in this way can God truly obtain people, and can people truly love and worship God. Now can you understand My intention in extracting these two passages of scripture where the Lord Jesus eats bread and explains the scriptures, and the disciples give Him broiled fish to eat after His resurrection?

It can be said that the series of things that the Lord Jesus said and did after His resurrection were thoughtful, and done with kind intentions. They were full of the kindness and affection that God holds toward humanity, and full of the appreciation and meticulous care He had for the intimate relationship He had established with mankind during His time in the flesh. Even more, they were full of the nostalgia and the hope He had for the life of eating and living with His followers during His time in the flesh. So, God did not want people to feel a distance between God and man, nor did He want mankind to distance themselves from God. Even more, He didn’t want mankind to feel that the Lord Jesus after His resurrection was no longer the Lord who was so intimate with people, that He was no longer together with mankind because He returned to the spiritual world, returned to the Father who people could never see or reach. He didn’t want people to feel that there was any difference in position between Him and mankind. When God sees people who want to follow Him but keep Him at a respectful distance, His heart is in pain because that means their hearts are very far from Him, it means that it will be very difficult for Him to gain their hearts. So if He had appeared to people in a spiritual body that they could not see or touch, this would have once again distanced man from God, and it would have led mankind to mistakenly see Christ after His resurrection as having become lofty, of a different kind than humans, and someone who could no longer share a table and eat with man because humans are sinful, filthy, and can never get close to God. In order to remove these misunderstandings of mankind, the Lord Jesus did a number of things He frequently did in the flesh, as recorded in the Bible, “he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them.” He also explained the scriptures to them, as He had used to do. All of this that the Lord Jesus did made every person who saw Him feel that the Lord had not changed, that He was still the same Lord Jesus. Even though He had been nailed to the cross and had experienced death, He had been resurrected, and had not left mankind. He had returned to be among humans, and His everything had not changed. The Son of man standing in front of people was still the same Lord Jesus. His demeanor and His conversation with people felt so familiar. He was still so full of lovingkindness, grace, and tolerance—He was still that Lord Jesus who loved others as He loved Himself, who could forgive mankind seventy times seven. As always, He ate with people, discussed the scriptures with them, and even more importantly, just the same as before, He was made of flesh and blood and could be touched and seen. The Son of man in this way allowed people to feel that intimacy, to feel at ease, and to feel the joy of regaining something that has been lost, and they also felt at ease enough to bravely and confidently begin to rely on and look up to this Son of man who could forgive mankind of their sins. They also began to pray to the name of the Lord Jesus without hesitations, to pray to obtain His grace, His blessing, and to obtain peace and joy from Him, to gain care and protection from Him, and began to perform healings and cast out demons in the name of the Lord Jesus.

During the time that the Lord Jesus worked in the flesh, most of His followers could not fully verify His identity and the things that He said. When He went up on the cross, the attitude of His followers was one of expectancy; when He was nailed to the cross all the way until He was put into the grave, people’s attitude toward Him was disappointment. During this time, people had already begun to move in their hearts from doubting to denial of the things the Lord Jesus had said during His time in the flesh. And when He walked out from the grave, and appeared to the people one by one, the majority of people who had seen Him with their own eyes or heard the news of His resurrection gradually shifted from denial to skepticism. By the time the Lord Jesus had Thomas put his hand into His side, by the time the Lord Jesus broke bread and ate it in front of the crowd after His resurrection, and after that ate broiled fish in front of them, only then did they truly accept the fact that the Lord Jesus is Christ in the flesh. You could say that it was as if this spiritual body with flesh and blood standing in front of those people then was awakening every one of them from a dream: The Son of man standing in front of them was the One who had existed since time immemorial. He had a form, and flesh and bones, and He had already lived and eaten with mankind for a long time…. At this time, the people felt that His existence was so real, so wonderful; they were also so joyful and happy, and at the same time filled with emotion. And His reappearance allowed people to truly see His humility, to feel His closeness, and His longing, His attachment for mankind. This brief reunion made the people who saw the Lord Jesus feel as if a lifetime had passed. Their lost, confused, afraid, anxious, yearning and numb hearts found comfort. They were no longer doubtful or disappointed because they felt that now there was hope and something to rely on. The Son of man standing in front of them would be behind them for eternity, He would be their strong tower, their refuge for all time.

Although the Lord Jesus was resurrected, His heart and His work had not left mankind. He told people with His appearance that no matter what form He existed in, He would accompany people, walk with them, and be with them at all times and in all places. And at all times and all places, He would provide to mankind and shepherd them, allow them to see and touch Him, and make sure they never again feel helpless. The Lord Jesus also wanted people to know this: Their lives in this world are not alone. Mankind has God’s care, God is with them; people can always lean on God; He is the family of every one of His followers. With God to lean on, mankind will no longer be lonely or helpless, and those who accept Him as their sin offering will no longer be bound in sin. In human eyes, these portions of His work that the Lord Jesus carried out after His resurrection were very small things, but the way I see it, every single thing was so meaningful, so valuable, and they were all so important and weighty.

Although the Lord Jesus’ time of working in the flesh was full of hardships and suffering, through His appearance in His spiritual body of flesh and blood, He completely and perfectly accomplished His work of that time in the flesh to redeem mankind. He began His ministry by becoming flesh, and He concluded His ministry by appearing to mankind in His fleshly form. He heralded the Age of Grace, He began the Age of Grace through His identity as Christ. Through His identity as Christ, He carried out the work in the Age of Grace and He strengthened and led all of His followers in the Age of Grace. It can be said of God’s work that He truly finishes what He starts. There are steps and a plan, and it is full of God’s wisdom, His omnipotence, and His marvelous deeds. It is also full of God’s love and mercy. Of course, the main thread running through all of God’s work is His care for mankind; it is permeated with His feelings of concern that He can never put aside. In these verses of the Bible, in every single thing that the Lord Jesus did after His resurrection, what was revealed was God’s unchanging hopes and concern for mankind, as well as God’s meticulous care and cherishing of humans. Until now, none of this has changed—can you see it? When you see this, doesn’t your heart just automatically become close to God? If you lived in that age and the Lord Jesus appeared to you after His resurrection, in a tangible form for you to see, and if He sat in front of you, ate bread and fish and explained the scriptures to you, spoke with you, then how would you feel? Would you feel happy? How about guilty? The previous misunderstandings and avoidance of God, the conflicts with and doubts of God—wouldn’t they all just disappear? Wouldn’t the relationship between God and man become more proper?

Through interpretation of these limited chapters of the Bible, did you discover any flaws in God’s disposition? Did you discover any adulteration of God’s love? Did you see any deceit or evil in God’s omnipotence or wisdom? Certainly not! Now can you say with certainty that God is holy? Can you say with certainty that God’s emotions are all a revealing of His essence and disposition? I hope that after you have read these words, what you’ve understood from it will help you and bring you benefits in your pursuit of a change in disposition and a fear of God. I also hope that these words will bear fruit for you that grows by the day, thus in the process of this pursuit bringing you closer and closer to God, bringing you closer and closer to the standard that God requires, so that you are no longer bored of the pursuit of the truth and you no longer feel that the pursuit of the truth and of a change in disposition is a troublesome or a superfluous thing. It is, rather, the expression of God’s true disposition and the holy essence of God that motivate you to long for the light, to long for justice, and to aspire to pursue the truth, to pursue the satisfaction of God’s will, and to become a man gained by God, to become a real person.

Do You Know the True Significance of the Lord Jesus’ Redemption?

Jan 20, 2019

By Xiaomo, China

The mention of “Jesus’ Redemption” always fills us with gratitude to the Lord. Two thousand years ago, to redeem us from the hands of Satan, the Lord Jesus was crucified and sacrificed for the sins of humanity, thereby forgiving all our sins. When we sin, as long as we repent and confess our sins to the Lord, our sins are forgiven, and we enjoy peace and joy. But recently, some brothers and sisters have been confused: Although our sins are forgiven by the Lord, we have never been able to escape the bondage of sin, we often lie and deceive, we are stuck in the cycle of sinning and confessing, and we cannot keep the Lord’s teachings. The Bible clearly tells us, “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins” (Hebrews 10:26). We know clearly that we can sin involuntarily despite knowing our actions go against God’s will, and that if we merely repent without changing, the sacrifice for our sins is useless. Like this, can we truly be directly raptured into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord comes? But there are also some brothers and sisters who believe that although we often sin, the Lord has forgiven our sins and does not see us as sinners, and when the Lord returns, we will be raptured into the kingdom of heaven! So, will we be raptured into the kingdom of heaven? Let’s explore the issue together.

Jesus eats bread and teaches the scriptures after resurrection
When the Lord Jesus was born, He was hunted down by King Herod, enduring sufferings for thirty-three years in His whole life and worked for three and a half years. He saved man out of the bonds of the law and be nailed to the cross. He had finished the work of redemption, tasted life’s bitterness and sweetness. Why did He appear to people after His resurrection?

Why did Jesus Appear for Forty Days After Resurrection?

By Zhou Tao
It’s recorded in Acts 1:3, “To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:” Whenever reading this verse, a bunch of pious Christians wonder why the Lord Jesus appeared to people for forty days after resurrection. What’s the significance of the appearance? Thanks for the Lord’s guidance, I’m willing to share some of my knowledge.

Christian Testimonies-A Christian’s Wonderful Rebuttal of the Notions of a Three-Self Pastor

Feb 25, 201841

Pastor Feng (A Three-Self pastor): Sister Jiang, your reception of the correct path in believing in God is very good. It is consistent with the word of the Lord Jesus. I totally agree without dissent. But just now, you witness that the Lord Jesus has returned, that is, the incarnate Almighty God. This is what I don’t understand. You also know that over the years, the Communist Party has been frantically convicting, suppressing, and arresting you. Most pastors and elders of the religious community have also condemned Eastern Lightning. If Almighty God is indeed the Lord Jesus who has returned, the CCP’s condemnation and opposition are inevitable, but why did the resistance and condemnation of the religious community occur? If it is really the Lord who has returned, He should have first appeared to the religious pastors and elders, so these pastors and elders would be the first to be raptured. But this is not the case now. Not only is the CCP frantically suppressing and arresting Eastern Lightning, even most pastors and elders of the religious community are resisting and condemning. What is the problem here? Can you explain it to me?
Jiang Xinyi (A Christian): Pastor Feng, you question God’s appearance and work in the last days because of many pastors and elders of the religious community’s resistance and condemnation of Almighty God. This is normal. Recalling when the Lord Jesus appeared to work, not only did the Roman dictatorship resist and convict Him, Judaism even more frantically condemned and resisted the Lord Jesus. Does it mean that the Lord Jesus was not the appearance of God? Are you sure that whatever is condemned by the pastors and elders of the religious community is not the true way? Going by your point of view that whatever is resisted and condemned by the religious community is not God’s appearance and work, may I ask if the Lord Jesus was God’s appearance? Were the word and work of the Lord Jesus the appearance and work of God? Since the leaders of Judaism had resisted and condemned the Lord Jesus so much, what is the basis of your belief in the Lord Jesus? Pastor Feng, you are familiar with the Bible. May I ask why did the Lord Jesus curse the Pharisees? Whom did the Pharisees represent? Did the Pharisees represent the religious leaders? The Book of Revelation predicted the destruction of the religious community. What did it mean? It indicates that the religious leaders are resistant to God. They all deny and resist Christ and act against God. Don’t you admit that this is the fact? Why is the religious community so deserted and devoid of the Holy Spirit’s work? This is enough to show that God hates and curses the religious community. God wants the chosen people who really belong to Him to come out of religion, to come out to God from the city of Babylon. This is the intention of God. If you do not believe it, take a look at the prophecy of Revelation, see how the Lord Jesus cursed the Pharisees, then you will understand everything.
Eastern Lightning, the Church of Almighty God, Posters ,

Pastor Feng: It is true that the Lord Jesus cursed the Pharisees. It is also true that the demise of religious Babylon was predicted in Revelation. I know all these. However, Sister Jiang, you witness that Almighty God is the Lord Jesus who has returned to perform judgment work by expressing the truth in the last days. Is there any biblical basis for it? Those who believe in the Lord know that the Lord Jesus’ return is His resurrected spiritual body descending with the clouds for all eyes to see. To date, we haven’t seen the Lord Jesus descend with the clouds. So I’m certain that the Lord has not yet returned. Sister Jiang, I do not understand. Why do you witness that Almighty God is the Lord Jesus who has returned? How can you be sure that God will be incarnated as the Son of man to appear and work in the last days? Can you tell me?
Jiang Xinyi: Pastor Feng, you often teach the Bible to others, you should understand the Bible more than me. But my belief in Almighty God was established upon study and examination. I have read many words of Almighty God and found that all His words are truth that has unveiled all the mysteries of the Bible. I am sure that the expression of Almighty God is the voice of God. My acceptance of Almighty God is based on the prophecies of the Lord Jesus: “For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation” (Luke 17:24-25). “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” This clearly indicates that in the last days, the Lord will return as the Son of man in the flesh, and still speak to man. When man hears the voice of God, he will have greeted the Lord. The appearance and work of Almighty God fulfills the prophecies of the Lord Jesus. The word of the Lord is very clear that He will return as the Son of man in the last days. Since He said it is the Son of man, it refers to a man of human birth with normal humanity, which means the incarnation of God. If it were the spiritual body of the resurrected Lord Jesus, it could not be called the Son of man because the spiritual body of the resurrected Lord Jesus can fade in and out and penetrate walls. It is not subject to the constraints of space and geography. It is not human flesh with normal humanity. Pastor Feng, am I right in what I say? It is because the Lord has returned in the flesh as the Son of man, just as the Lord Jesus in the past, whose appearance is that of an ordinary, normal person, people resist, condemn and reject Him because they don’t realize that He is God. If the Lord were to return in a spiritual body with the clouds, that would certainly be a magnificent sign to behold. People would all prostrate on sight. How would the Lord “suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation”? Wouldn’t the prophecy of the Lord Jesus have fallen short? So the Lord’s return as the Son of man in the flesh in the last days is certain. How would you receive it, Pastor Feng?
Pastor Feng: Your reception is justified and also in line with the Bible. As for equating the ability to express the truth with the appearance and work of God, I cannot accept it. If one has the revelation of God, isn’t he able to express the truth too? The prophets are able to express God’s word, does it make them God’s appearance? Sister Jiang, you have to be careful when accepting God’s appearance and work because it is said in the Bible: “said in the Bible: “Then if any man shall say to you, See, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:23-24). The word of the Lord is very clear that in the last days, there are false Christs and false prophets who deceive people. So we cannot easily believe anyone who witnesses the Lord’s return in the flesh. Don’t you agree? Can you guarantee that you have not been deceived?
Jiang Xinyi: Pastor Feng, listening to your words, you are wary of being deceived so you dare not easily accept the word and work of God in the last days. Many people also advised me to be cautious when I was studying the true way. They let me read the scripture you just quoted. But this passage only tells us to take caution and avoid being deceived. It does not refute the Lord’s return in the last days as the Son of man in the flesh. Nor does it prove that Christ will not appear to work in the last days because the Lord Jesus clearly stated, “I come quickly.” If we interpreted this passage as Christ will not appear to work in the last days, and only the false Christs and false prophets will be deceiving people, it would be a big mistake. Pastor Feng, you should also know in the years before and after God appeared to work in the flesh in the last days, false Christs and false prophets have appeared to deceive people in every nation. Under these circumstances, how can we determine that it is God’s appearance and work? How do we distinguish the false Christs? The words of the Lord Jesus are very clear: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truthsince we are searching for the footprints of God, we must search for God’s will, for the words of God, for the utterances of God—for where there are the new words of God, there is the voice of God, and where there are the footsteps of God, there are the deeds of God. Where there is the expression of God, there is the appearance of God, and where there is the appearance of God, there exists the truth, the way, and the life” (The Word Appears in the Flesh). It was when I saw all the words expressed by Almighty God are the truth and the voice of God that I accepted Almighty God. Had it not been for God, who could have expressed so many truths? That was enough to prove that it was the appearance of God in the flesh to man because corrupt mankind does not have the truth. Even the ancient saints, and those saved by God were incapable of expressing the truth. It is impossible for believers of God to express the truth no matter how hard they study the Bible. The evil spirit Satan can perform miracles and wonders, but it cannot express the truth. Although a prophet can speak the words of God, he is only conveying the words of God. The words he conveys are very limited. Without God’s instructions, his function will cease. He himself has no truth. Nor can he perform God’s work. He can only do his duty as a man. Therefore, it must be certain in seeking the Lord’s appearance and work that only Christ is the truth, the way and the life. Only He who can express the truth is the appearance of God at work. Without being able to express the truth, however great the miracles and wonders he performs, he is not the appearance of God. I have pondered over these things for a long time. I finally determined that since Almighty God can express so many truths, He is certainly the appearance of God. Pastor Feng, is there anything wrong with how I accepted it?
Pastor Feng: Sister Jiang, listening to what you said, I see that you are really a thoughtful and assertive person. Now I believe that you’re not foolishly deceived into believing in Almighty God. You haven’t believed in the Lord for long, but you understand the Bible so thoroughly. I admire you for it! It seems that the truth can indeed be found in the word expressed by Almighty God. When I have a chance, I really need to read The Word Appears in the Flesh and carefully study the work of Almighty God in the last days.

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, Almighty God,
The Lord Jesus living with men
Li Qian
I am a pastor. I have preached and worked for the Lord for years, but a puzzle constantly remained in my heart: Why did the Lord Jesus come to work among man in the image of an ordinary person? Many people, just because of His ordinary appearance, denied that He is God Himself, and regarded Him as an ordinary person. Especially the chief priests, scribes and Pharisees not only didn’t treat the Lord Jesus as God, but judged Him as the son of a poor carpenter and smeared Him, by saying that He healed the sick and cast out demons by the prince of the devils. They did their utmost to deny that the Lord Jesus is God Himself. I couldn’t help but ask myself: How would I treat Him if I lived in that age? Would I measure and deny the Lord Jesus according to His ordinariness like them? Thinking of this, I felt hesitant. Then considering carefully: That today I can accept the Lord Jesus as my Savior is because His redemptive work has been accomplished and His holy name has been widely testified. If I were born in the time that the Lord Jesus came to carry out His work, I would have probably resisted Him due to His ordinary appearance like the Pharisees at that time. What puzzled me was: God is so supreme, so why did He take such an ordinary image to work among man? If He was born into an imperial family, with an exalted image and a great man’s demeanor, then wouldn’t He be easy for people to accept? This question continued to puzzle me for a long time.
Hard as I pondered on this question, I still couldn’t understand. I had searched the Bible many times, and also consulted many books. Through reading verses, seeking and praying, I knew it was meaningful that the Lord Jesus worked among mankind in an ordinary image. I saw the Bible recorded that the three Magi imagined that the Messiah would be born in the royal palace, while they were unable to find the newborn Lord Jesus there. Instead the Lord Jesus was born in a manger, came from a carpenter’s family in Bethlehem of Judah, and wore a common person’s appearance. God is so lofty but assumes the form of a common human. It can be seen that the substance of God is humble and hidden. He does not stand in His position and never exhibits Himself to let others worship Him. But we are quite vain. We only care about people’s external appearances and admire great figures, but don’t pay attention to knowing God’s substance or the aspect of His beauty and goodness. Just think: If the Lord Jesus was born in a royal palace, as people thought, with a lofty and great image, what would everyone do? Those Jewish people, scribes and Pharisees who resisted God wouldn’t do so because of His ordinary image. On the contrary, they would definitely follow Him. Then how could their substance of hypocrisy and resistance to God be revealed? While those lowly people might deem that God was unreachable because of His great image and high status. Then it wouldn’t be easy for those common people to approach God or receive His salvation.
At this point, I realized that there is God’s wisdom hidden behind the Lord Jesus working among man in an ordinary image. Because God looks upon the entire earth, He knows that a large amount of people believe in Him, but only a small group of them truly believe in Him and long for the truth. Thus God appears in the form of an ordinary man. In this way, all the people who truly believe in God and thirst for the truth can be chosen and saved. The Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Those disciples and people who truly believed in God and thirsted for the truth, such as Peter, John, Andrew, Nathanael and so on, recognized His voice and returned to the Lord on account of hearing His way. For those who didn’t truly believe in God or long for the truth, the Holy Spirit wouldn’t work in them. They were the ones who were eliminated by the work of the Lord Jesus, just like the earliest Pharisees. God worked in that way, which really revealed everyone. Because at each stage of His work, what He wants are people who can seek and long for the truth, and who can keep up with the work of the Holy Spirit. Those who neither seek the truth nor keep up with the work of the Holy Spirit are all eliminated. In this way, these two types of people—the good and the evil—can easily be separated, which is God’s wisdom.
After understanding these, I feel enlightened. The Lord Jesus Christ came to work in an ordinary image, which allows us to have a knowledge of His humble and hidden essence, brings us closer to God, lets us receive the provision and shepherding of the truth from His words, and moreover reveals those who don’t love truth but define God based on His appearance and are full of vague ideas about Him. We know no matter how God works, it contains His will and wisdom. After seeking and understanding this aspect of the truth, I must draw lessons from the Pharisees, and can’t judge whether the Lord Jesus Christ is God Himself by His appearance; instead I should learn from Peter and Nathanael, paying attention to distinguishing whether the Lord’s words are God’s voice. Only in this way will I not make the mistake of condemning and resisting God.

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, Lord Jesus,
Jesus and His disciples pick some heads of grain and eat on the Sabbath

Lord’s Thoughts of Not Keeping the Sabbath

Wang hao
There are the following scriptures recorded in the Bible, “At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, Behold, your disciples do that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath day” (Mat 12:1-2). Yet the Lord Jesus said, “But I say to you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day” (Mat 12:6-8). Whenever I saw these scriptures, I couldn’t help but think: The Sabbath was the holy day made by Jehovah God for the Israelites.

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, Jesus,
Nowadays, all the believers in the Lord are expecting the Lord Jesus’ second coming to bring man into the kingdom of heaven. Especially when people reading the scripture Acts 1:11, “Which also said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.”, they think that the Lord left on a white cloud, so he will surely return on a white cloud.

What Is the Difference Between Christianity and the Church of Almighty God?

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, Church,Christianity and the Church of Almighty God believe in the same God. People who understand the history of religion know that Judaism in Israel was born of the work that Jehovah God did in the Age of Law. Christianity, Catholicism, and Eastern Orthodoxy were all churches that emerged after the incarnate Lord Jesus did the work of redemption. The Church of Almighty God came to be when God became flesh during the last days to do the work of judgment. Christians in the Age of Grace read the Old and New Testament of the Bible, and Christians of the Church of Almighty God in the Age of Kingdom now read The Word Appears in the Flesh, which was personally spoken by God in the last days. Christianity abides by the work of redemption that the Lord Jesus did in the Age of Grace, and the Church of Almighty God accepts the work of judgment of the last days of the returned Lord Jesus, Almighty God. The difference between Christianity and the Church of Almighty God is that Christianity abides by the work that God did during the Age of Law and the Age of Grace, whereas the Church of Almighty God abides by the work of judgment beginning from the house of God that God has carried out during the last days. The differences between Christianity and the Church of Almighty God are akin to the differences between Christianity and Judaism: During the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus carried out the work of mankind’s redemption upon the foundation of the work of the Old Testament Age of Law. But the chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees of Judaism did not recognize that the Lord Jesus was the incarnation of Jehovah, that He was the Messiah they were waiting for. They stubbornly clung to the laws and commandments of the Old Testament proclaimed by Jehovah God. They also crucified the merciful Lord Jesus, who had saved mankind, thus offending God’s disposition. God then discarded the whole of Judaism, which clung to the laws of the Old Testament, and turned His salvation to the Gentiles—who, after accepting and following the Lord Jesus, formed the churches of the New Testament, which were also called Christianity. Meanwhile, the Jews, who clung only to the work of Jehovah God of the Old Testament Age of Law and rejected the work of redemption of the Lord Jesus, formed what is called Judaism. From this it can be seen that Christianity and the Church of Almighty God believe in the same God—the Lord who created the heavens and the earth and all things. It’s just that the name and work of God people hold to are different: The Church of Almighty God abides by the new name of God during the Age of Kingdom, and accepts the new work carried out by God during the last days, while Christianity holds to the name of God during the Age of Grace, and accepts the old work that God did during previous ages. This is the most important difference between Christianity and the Church of Almighty God. The God that both believe in, however, is the same: The only true God who created the heavens and the earth and all things. This is a fact that no one can distort or deny!
Many Christians believe that they need only accept the Lord Jesus’ work of redemption to enter the kingdom of heaven, and need not also accept the work of judgment of Almighty God of the last days. Such conceptions are completely wrong. During the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus did the work of redemption. People were saved because of their faith, and were no longer condemned by the law and put to death because of their transgressions. Yet the Lord Jesus only forgave man’s sins, and did not pardon or resolve man’s sinful nature. The satanic dispositions within people—the arrogance and conceitedness, selfishness and greed, crookedness and deceitfulness, and rebelliousness and opposition against God—still existed. People had yet to be completely cleansed, saved, and gained by God. Thus, the Lord Jesus said many times that He must return. In many places in the Bible is it prophesied that God shall return and perform judgment, bringing the saints into the kingdom of heaven. The incarnate Almighty God of the last days has expressed all truths for the purification and salvation of mankind, and has carried out the new work of judgment beginning from the house of God upon the foundation of the work of redemption of the Lord Jesus. It is in order to resolve mankind’s sinful nature, and to allow mankind to completely free himself from the bondage and constraints of sin, live out the likeness of the real man and be gained by God, and enter the beautiful destination prepared for mankind by God. It can be said that the work of redemption carried out by the Lord Jesus is the foundation of the work of salvation of God of the last days, while the work of judgment of the last days is the core and the focus of the work of salvation of God. This is the stage of work that is most crucial and important to the salvation of mankind. Only those who accept Almighty God’s work of judgment of the last days shall have the chance to be saved and enter the kingdom of heaven and become those who are caught up before God. Today, some people in the various sects and denominations of the religious world have seen that Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus during the last days, and thus they have accepted and begun to follow Almighty God. Some unbelievers have also accepted Almighty God because of the truths expressed by Almighty God. These people who believe in Almighty God make up the Church of Almighty God. Under the guidance and shepherding of Christ of the last days, Almighty God, the Christians of the Church of Almighty God have, through experiencing and putting into practice the words of Almighty God, gradually come to understand many truths, and have clearly seen the source and substance of mankind’s corruption. Under the judgment and chastisement of God’s words, people have really and actually tasted God’s righteous and unoffendable disposition. Because they know God, they have gradually come to fear God and shun evil, and live according to God’s words. With their understanding of the truth, people’s knowledge of God has gradually deepened, their obedience to God has become ever greater, and they have put more and more truths into practice. Without realizing it, these people will have completely freed themselves from sin and attained holiness. The Christians who do not accept the new work of Almighty God, meanwhile, still believe in Christianity. They hold to the name of the Lord Jesus, abide by the teachings of the Bible, and have long since been cast into darkness by God, losing the care and protection of God. This is a recognized fact. If people insist on not repenting, and blindly condemn and oppose the Lord Jesus returned during the last days, Almighty God, and refuse to accept Almighty God’s work of judgment of the last days, then ultimately, they shall all be eliminated by God’s work.

The New Testament records: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). Like many Christians, I thought that the Lord Jesus was the Savior and God could only be called Jesus. But I recalled that the Old Testament says: “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior” (Isaiah 43:11). In the Age of Law, God personally told people that the name Jehovah was His name and would last forever. However, why did God’s name become Jesus when He was incarnated to do the work of redemption in the Age of Grace? Which is actually God’s name, Jehovah or Jesus? The questions puzzled me all along.
One day, after one of my co-workers of the church read a passage from The Vision of God’s Work (3) to me, I had some new understanding of the change of God’s name. The passage says: “Can the image of one person and one particular name represent God in His entirety? In each age, God does new work and is called by a new name; how could He do the same work in different ages? How could He cling to the old? The name of Jesus was taken for the work of redemption, so would He still be called by the same name when He returns in the last days? Would He still do the work of redemption? Why is it that Jehovah and Jesus are one, yet They are called by different names in different ages? Is it not because the ages of Their work are different? Could a single name represent God in His entirety? In this way, God must be called by a different name in a different age, must use the name to change the age and represent the age, for no one name can fully represent God Himself. And each name can only represent God’s disposition during a certain age and needs only to represent His work. Therefore, God can choose whatever name befits His disposition to represent the entire age. Regardless of whether it is the age of Jehovah, or the age of Jesus, each age is represented by a name.” After the co-worker fellowshiped with me, I realized: God does different work in different ages and takes different names. He uses the name to change the age and represent the age. When God’s work of saving mankind moves forward, His name will change accordingly. Just as the name Jehovah represented the work of God in the Age of Law. In that age, God issued the laws to guide man’s life on earth and expressed the man-pitying, man-cursing disposition. The name Jehovah represented the God who possesses great power and is full of wisdom. In the Age of Grace, God did a new work, so He changed His name, which was not Jehovah but Jesus. God used the name Jesus to represent His work of redeeming mankind in the Age of Grace. The Lord Jesus bestowed abundant grace upon people and expressed the disposition of mercy and love. From the fact that God’s name changed from Jehovah to Jesus, we can see that God’s name doesn’t remain forever, but changes according to the change of the age of the work. The age is moving forward, so God’s name is bound to change when the Lord returns to do His new work in the last days.
We also consulted the prophecies in Revelation, which say, “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it” (Revelation 2:17). “Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write on him my new name” (Revelation 3:12). These words prophesied that when the Lord Jesus returns, He will have a new name. It can neither be the name of Jesus nor Jehovah. Then what will be the new name? We noticed that Revelation 15:3 records: “And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints.” Revelation 19:6 says: “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunder, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.” From the prophecies, I know God’s new name in the last days is the Almighty, that is, Almighty God. Though Jehovah, Jesus and Almighty God are called differently, yet They are one God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. It turned out that Revelation had already prophesied the new name of the returned Lord. Not until then did I realize it. I really thanked God’s guidance!

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, gospel, Later on, I read another passage in The Vision of God’s Work (3), “God’s wisdom, God’s wondrousness, God’s righteousness, and God’s majesty shall never change. His essence and what He has and is shall never change. His work, however, is always progressing forward and always going deeper, for He is always new and never old.” “There are those who say that God is immutable. That is correct, but it refers to the immutability of God’s disposition and substance. Changes in His name and work do not prove that His substance has altered; in other words, God will always be God, and this will never change.” After reading these words, I thought of the verses, “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior.” “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Then I finally understood the true meaning of these verses. God’s management plan of saving mankind is progressing forward. When each age of God Himself comes, He will take a new name to accomplish His work of the current age: In the Age of Law, God was called by the name of Jehovah; in the Age of Grace, God’s name was Jesus; when the last days come, God will still change His name and will be called Almighty God. But no matter how God’s name changes, His substance never alters, and His main disposition that is righteous, His holy substance, His almightiness and wisdom, as well as what He has and is won’t change. God says, “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior” (Isaiah 43:11). The Bible records “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). These verses truly mean that the inherent disposition of God and what He has and is have never changed and will never change, but don’t mean that God’s name remains forever as we imagine. If we hold on to such conceptions, we misinterpret God’s word. As a result, we will define God and His work, and even directly resist God according to our conceptions and imaginations. Let’s recall the time that the Lord Jesus came to do His work in the Age of Grace. Because the Israelites under the law didn’t know God’s substance, they held on to the false understanding of the word “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior.” They didn’t allow God to change His name but condemned the Lord Jesus, for in their heart only Jehovah was God and only He was their Savior. When God changed the age and did a new work to save them in the name of Jesus, they didn’t know what the Lord Jesus expressed is the truth and is God’s disposition and all that He is, much less did they know the essence of the Lord Jesus’ work or the change of the Holy Spirit’s work. They never thought the Lord Jesus was God incarnate who came to earth. Although God’s name changed and He was not called Jehovah, the Lord Jesus was the Spirit of Jehovah becoming a flesh to do the work of redemption in the name of Jesus. They only followed the letters of the Bible, rejected and resisted the Lord Jesus and His work. Ultimately they nailed the merciful Savior Jesus onto the cross alive, and thus committed a heinous crime and offended God’s disposition, resulting in the destruction of the entire Israeli nation, with many people fleeing to all parts of the world and having no place to stay. The painful fact was a warning to each of us who follows the Lord Jesus: In God’s constantly renewing and changing work, we should have a heart of fearing God and can’t define God’s name or His work at will.
Now I know that God is God. No matter what name God is called by, there is only one God. God is the Creator, the Ruler of all things, and the source of the life of all things. He controls all things and provides for the needs of all things. He is the only true God from everlasting to everlasting and He is the truth, the way and the life. Whether He is called by the name of Jehovah, Jesus or Almighty God, They are one Spirit. No matter in which age or whatever name God is called by, God’s righteous, holy, beautiful and good substance never changes. God will always be God Himself who saves us.
