A Situational Reading | "God's True Love" | The Church of Almighty God



Introduction
In order to make her way in the world, the protagonist has to follow the trends of the world and rush about and toil for fame, gain and status. She lives an empty and painful life. After believing in Almighty God, she finds the meaning of human life in Almighty God's words, and starts to joyfully follow God and perform her duties in the church. However, overtaken by the desire for fame and status, she often acts willfully and arbitrarily while fulfilling her duties, and as a result is pruned and dealt with by her brothers and sisters. At first, she is not convinced and tries to reason with them, but after experiencing the judgment and chastisement of God's words, she comes to know the truth of her corruption. Nevertheless, as she doesn't understand God's will, she begins to misunderstand God, thinking God will no longer save her. At that time, the word of God enlightens her and guides her little by little, so that she understands God's earnest intention in saving man and tastes His true love for man …

When I was three years old, my dad passed away, and at that time, my mom had just delivered my younger brother. Because my grandma was superstitious, she said that it was my mom and my brother that had brought the misfortune to my dad. Having no choice, my mom had to take my younger brother to her parents’ home. Thus, I lived with my grandpa and grandma since I was old enough to understand things. Though my grandparents treated me well, I was still eager to live with my mom and my younger brother. From grade three in primary school, I started to often ride my bicycle to my maternal grandpa’s to see my mom. As she much preferred boys to girls, she was obviously partial to my younger brother in eating and wearing, which made me suffer much. As a matter of fact, I was not very demanding and I merely wanted a home, where my mom could love me and tell me her innermost thoughts and feelings. But I could only meet her on weekends, and whenever I met difficulties at school, she was always not at my side.God's love As time passed, I became unwilling to tell others what difficulties I met. When I was sixteen, a part of teens of my age in the village applied and got the tourist visa and some of them chose to stay abroad. So I thought: My family condition is not good, and if I go abroad, I will be able to earn my own living and further support the family budget, so that it can improve the economic condition of my family as well.

I Have Finally Seen the Way of Being a True Person

Since I was small, my desire for reputation was always very strong, and when I interacted with people I paid particular attention to my own image, my status in other people’s eyes, and their assessment of me. So I always allowed other people to have any convenience, any benefits, and I just buried difficulties or grievances in my heart. I didn’t express those things to anyone, and when other people experienced difficulties I would always think of ways to help them. So in my parents’ eyes, I was a good girl; I was a real delight. In my neighbors’ and friends’ eyes, I was warm and generous. After getting married, I also got along very well with my husband’s family. When my sister-in-law and brother-in-law found partners and got married, I was running around like crazy. I contributed both money and effort, and I shared the burden with my parents-in-law. Before long I had become the good daughter-in-law and the good big sister. In reality, at that time I was exhausted every day and I was worn out to my very core because I was always tiptoeing around to maintain my relationships with other people and taking care of everyone else’s feelings; I would monitor their expressions and then speak accordingly. I was afraid of hurting someone else and leaving them with a bad impression, and damaging my own reputation. After gaining these “good names,” in my heart I felt proud, and that the price I had paid was worth it. I felt that I was very successful as a human being. I frequently thought to myself: If someday I encounter any difficulties, my friends, family, and neighbors will definitely extend a helping hand to me and help me out of my troubles. But just as I was basking in my “accomplishments” as a human being, a disaster came out of nowhere—it completely destroyed my fantasy and changed my views.

Only Almighty God Has True Love

I was once a co-worker in the Praise Church. I remember that when I had just believed in the Lord, a preacher said, “Our generation is the most blessed and can be raptured alive to meet the Lord in the air. The Lord is right at the door now….” Since then, I had been expecting the day of the Lord’s coming. I made a resolution before the Lord that I would wait for Him until His coming. Year after year went by, but the Lord had yet to come. Gradually, our heart grew ever more distant from God, and we were all in a slack, dozy, or lethargic condition in our spirit. At that time, I heard someone spread the news that “God has become flesh in China.” Just when I wanted to see whether it was true, our leader said, “It is a heresy, a cult. If you accept it, you will not have good days. Upon hearing his words, I thought: I will not allow the heresy to take me away. I must stand witness to the Lord.

Wenya's parents separated when she was two, and after that she lived with her father and stepmother. Her stepmother couldn't stand her and was always arguing with her father. After so many years of a life of foster care, young Wenya felt lonely and helpless, and longed for the warmth of a home. Only when her father and stepmother divorced did she return to her father's side, and from then on had a home, for better or for worse.

The Church of Almighty God, Eastern Lightning, Christian, Once Wenya grew up, she was very cautious and obedient, and she studied hard. But just as she was working hard to prepare for her college entrance examinations, misfortune came upon her: Her mother had a brain hemorrhage and became paralyzed and bedridden. Her stepfather abandoned her mother and even took control over all of her assets, and then her father was hospitalized with liver cancer…. Wenya could not possibly take on the burden of the household, so all she could do was plead with relatives and friends, but she was turned down. …
Just as Wenya was suffering and without recourse, two sisters from the Church of Almighty God bore witness to Wenya, her mother and sister on the work of Almighty God in the last days. They came to understand the root of pain in people's lives from the words of Almighty God, and understood that only if people come in front of God can they gain God's protection and live in happiness. Only through the comfort of God's words were mother and daughters able to come out from their pain and helplessness. Wenya genuinely experienced the love and mercy of God; she finally felt the warmth of a home, and came into a true home. …
